The importance of living in Judea and Shomron

Judea and Shomron are the heartland of Israel. It is here that our Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov most of the time lived with their families. Highway 60, from Beer Sheva to Nazaret, is also called the Way of the Patriarchs. it´s not surprising that Jews after the 6 day war decided to move back to this area that is so important according to our Jewish history. Today you can find Jewish settlements all along Highway 60 from Elon Moreh in Northern Shomron to Tene Omarim in Mount Hebron (Har Hevron).

Living in Judea and Shomron

Life in a community settlement in Judea and Shomron differs greatly from living in other places. Except that you are living where our forefathers lived life is very different. Here you can find everything from really secular settlements to real Charedi settlements. In the National religious settlements (they are the most) most live there out of religious beliefs. In secular settlements, many decided to establish their homes in Judea and Samaria because it was and still is cheaper than in more central parts of the country and Jerusalem. The Charedi population is living here both because it is cheaper and also because of the historical importance of living in Judea and Samaria.

Where to live in Judea and Shomron

In Judea and Samaria in 2023, there were nearly 150 Jewish settlements and more than 100 different outposts with a population of nearly 500,000 Jews. The settlements are located from Northern Samaria in the north and Har Hevron in the south. You can choose to live in anything from very idealistic communities to more moderate communities everything according to what you are looking for. You can also find communities that have a big Anglo population such as Efrat and Neve Daniel in Gush Etzion as well as Neve Aliza in the Shomron. You can also decide if you want to live in a big settlement with thousands of people or a small settlement with just a couple of hundred inhabitants. For example, I am living in a small community in Har Hevron called Maon. We just have 100 families but it is a very strong community. Everything is according to your needs.

Looking for Housing

To find housing today in Judea and Shomron is not easy. Unfortunately, the number of housing permits is limited and in many settlements, they haven´t built new houses in a long time and when they get housing permits it´s usually only a limited number of unities. Amana is one of the housing companies that are building in Judea and Samaria. Here you can see where they offer housing according to all your needs.
