The war is challenging for me. I am a person who usually likes to have control over my day. When things unexpectedly change, it can sometimes be hard for my brain to digest it. This is because of my ADHD. My biggest challenge is the lack of sleep during the night. Since I am quite sure that the alarm for incoming attacks will wake me up, I have a problem falling asleep. Many nights I have been awake until three or four o´clock in the morning, walking backwards and forwards to the kitchen, eating and drinking. This is a behavior brought on by stress, that I don´t need. But in general, I am very pleased with myself. I have been very aware of myself and no irritation has occurred because of the war we´re in.
During the day I have tried to write the articles that I had planned for the day. Most days I manage but it also happens that I don´t have the strength to do it, that I can´t concentrate enough. Then I have to sleep for a few hours to regain my strength and be able to focus on what I have to do. I really don´t like it, but if I need some extra sleep during this turbulent time, I decide to accept it. It makes my brain work the way it should.
Thank God my ADHD is mostly under control, I don´t feel that it affects me very much. I have told my wife that if she feels that I get stuck in a corner or I can´t navigate around an obstacle she has to tell me straight away.
But anyhow my belief in God is great, I trust Him that He has full control over the situation we´re in. He protects us against the devil Iran. We have nothing to worry about. For sure we have to pray for our well-being, and the success of the IAF. We know that everything is in God´s Hands but the chosen to do this holy work is the Israeli Airforce.
To conclude: Thank God, though it has been challenging, I feel I have been handling the war well. Of course, I have had some stressful moments and I have been lacking sleep, but I have been functioning well. I have been able to write my articles more or less. For sure I haven´t been looking for any excuses to not do what I am usually doing. A big thank you also goes to my beloved wife Sara, who has been able to guide me when needed.
To all my brothers and sisters out there – keep strong. Remember that God will always protect us. This doesn’t mean we don’t still have an obligation to pray to Him, every day we have to thank Him for protecting us, and pray that He will continue to do so. It also doesn’t mean that it won’t get hard, it may get hard. But we have to trust Him that He has a plan, and that He will bring us to the ultimate redemption.
